Doug Willett once described the Seppala breeding programme for the foreseeable future as "playing themes on the various combinations of the Ash line and the Surgut/Helen line," of which Hank and Beowulf respectively were the outstanding representatives. Our "LL" litter, our Norde of Sepp-Alta progeny, and River View's Sprite represent the Hank line in the Seppala Kennels breeding programme.
Fortunately with the advent of new import stock from Siberia we are now able to carry Seppala Siberian Sleddog breeding through and beyond the narrow straits of "playing themes" on combinations of Hank and Beowulf lineage in an ever-narrowing cycle of inbreeding. But the importance of HERCULES OF SEPP-ALTA will never be forgotten in the Seppala breed. Hank's indomitable toughness and never-say-die working attitude echo down the generations through such sleddogs as SEPALLEO, SEPALLOP, SEPALLAMPO and SEPALLEOPARD, and currently in Hank's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
