RIVER VIEW'S HURLEY

River View's Hurley, Seppala Siberian Sleddog River View's Hurley, a Markovo Seppala

RIVER VIEW'S HURLEY was a large, strong agouti male who bore a remarkable resemblance to the 1929 Leonhard Seppala leader "Bonzo."

Bred in the north woods of Wisconsin by Carolyn Ritter, he was one of our four POWDER OF MARKOVO progeny; sleddogs produced by "Powder" were uniformly distinguished by high working attitude. At Seppala Kennels Hurley was a capable reserve leader and an unsurpassed wheel dog, always honest and hard-working, pulling more than his share of the load. He was a highly bonded, affectionate dog with a sweet, docile nature. He sired many capable sleddogs for us. Hurley had an honest, primitive beauty that outshone the superficial flashiness of show-dog markings. His physique and general appearance were quite close to our ideal for the breed.

HURLEY marked his progeny with a very positive and friendly temperament; all of them were highly bonded, affectionate sleddogs. His greatest contribution to the breed was his superlative temperament. Isa and I greatly miss our Big Brown Beautiful 'Berian Bomber Boy.
