The Miners' Range, hard by Lake Laberge in the Yukon Territory, is the home of the Seppala Siberian Sleddog, Canada's new evolving dog breed.

J. Jeffrey Bragg was the owner/breeder at Markovo Kennels in the 1970s, responsible for the rescue of the Leonhard Seppala Siberian sled dog strain from impending extinction.

Today the descendants of Leonhard Seppala's Siberian dogs of the Gold Rush era train on the rough back country trails and frozen lakes of the Yukon Territory at Seppala Kennels near Lake Laberge, 20 miles north of Whitehorse.
